Bachelor of Construction Management
The Bachelor of Business in Construction and Building Practices provides a comprehensive education in various facets of the construction industry. It encompasses a thorough understanding of construction law, ethics, business management, construction economics, and global property development.
Upon enrollment, you’ll begin with an introduction to the fundamental principles of the built environment. This includes learning about construction sustainability, project development, construction materials, and on-site operations. As you progress into your third year, you’ll engage in in-depth study of key areas in construction business such as estimating, tendering, planning, and procurement. There will be a strong emphasis on incorporating information and communication technology (ICT) applications within the built environment.
In your final year, you’ll have the opportunity to enhance your professional skills through an industry placement, allowing you to gain practical experience in a real-world construction setting. This degree program is designed to equip you with a well-rounded knowledge base and practical expertise in the field of construction and building practices.
Program accreditation
The Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) granted provisional accreditation by the Australian Institute of Building (AIB). The requirements of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) in the UK and the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) have been considered in the development of this degree.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Construction Management (Hons) meet Queensland Building and Construction Commission’s technical qualification requirements to hold a Builder Open class of licence and a Builder Project Management Services licence subject to demonstrating the required level of industry experience.

O/L Option:

- Passed G.C.E O/L with minimum 1 year relevant Industry experience
