Kandy Innovation Center (KIC) is the second center for creative technologies to be established in Sri Lanka. The first being The National Innovation Centre (NIC) located in Kirulapona, which is a result of a strategic partnership agreement between the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) and Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. 

The partnership strengthens NIBM’s position as an international institution and puts it in a competitive global position and opens up the global job market while attracting talent from around the region. This joint venture by NIBM and Limkokwing University in Malaysia will provide digital education and skills training to Sri Lankan youth. It is established as a part of the Sri Lankan government’s continuous efforts to drive Sri Lanka into a twenty first century digital nation.

We want to use creativity to break out of expected patterns in order to look at things in a different way. The array of programs offered by KIC is a game-changer in Sri Lanka’s creative institution sector. Ranging from Multimedia, Fashion, Design, Architecture, Communication, Journalism, Sound & Music and Information Technology, which will not only inspire & empower a new generation of graduates who will lead the creative industries but also use their creativity to transform, overcome challenges and improve the lives of others.
