What is your next education pathway?
The Diploma in Quantity Surveying is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in the construction industry, specifically in cost estimation, project management, and contract administration. The program covers key subjects such as engineering mathematics, building materials, and building technology, laying a strong foundation for understanding the technical aspects of construction.
In later semesters, students will gain practical skills through modules on computer-aided design (AutoCAD), building services, and building measurements, allowing them to apply their learning in real-world scenarios. The course also covers construction economics, procurement, and cost management, ensuring students are equipped to handle budgeting and financial planning for construction projects.
A crucial part of the curriculum is the study of contract law and dispute resolution, preparing students to navigate legal issues in construction contracts. The program concludes with a Quantity Surveying Project, where students can apply their skills to real-life construction projects, reinforcing their learning and enhancing their professional development.
By completing this diploma, students will be well-prepared for roles in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and construction management, with a strong technical background and practical experience that can be applied in a variety of construction environments.
