What is your next education pathway?

The BSc (Hons) Psychology awarded by the University of Essex is developed for students who are pursuing a deeper understanding of all the major scientific disciplines in psychology including a focus on subjects of significant contemporary interests; neuroscience, cognitive, developmental and social psychology. The programme will allow students to pursue postgraduate education in most pure and applied disciplines internationally, by following a syllabus offered and moderated by a top-ranking UK university.

Entry Requirements

For entry into the first year (Level 4/Advance Diploma in Psychology):

  • 3 Passes in G.C.E. A/L Examination & English. (Those who have obtained 2 passes for the in G.C.E. A/L Examination can complete the Certificate in Psychology to become eligible)

  • It is mandatory that the candidate has obtained at least an ‘S’ pass for Mathematics and English for GCE Ordinary Level Examination.

OR

  • Completion of Foundation in Psychology at NIBM.

  • Those who have completed a Certificate course/ Advanced Certificate course in Psychology from a recognized institution.

For entry into the second year (Level 5/BSc (Hons) in Psychology):

  • For entry to the second year, applicants will need to complete the NIBM Advanced Diploma in Psychology.

OR

  • Lateral Entry: Completion of a first-year degree equivalent (Will be assessed by University of Essex panel)

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate an adequate proficiency in English and may be assessed during the induction phase of the course.

For entry into the third year (Level 6/BSc (Hons) in Psychology):

  • For entry to the second year, applicants will need to complete the level 5/BSC (Hons) in Psychology year. (Note: There is no lateral entry pathway taken for this stage of the programme.)
