Certificate Course in Pattern Making is designed for individuals interested in developing skills in fashion design and garment construction. This hands-on course covers essential techniques in flat pattern making, starting with an understanding of human anatomy and measurements to create well-fitted garments.
Students will learn to create basic patterns, including a ladies' bodice, skirt, men's shirt block, and trousers for both ladies and men. The course also covers key elements of design, such as stylization techniques, dart manipulation, and various types of sleeves and collars, allowing students to experiment and customize their patterns. Additionally, the course introduces the construction of saree jackets and essential sewing techniques, seam constructions, pressing, and finishing for polished, professional results.
By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to create garment patterns and start a career in fashion design or pattern making. No formal education qualifications are required, though a basic understanding of English and knowledge of GCE (O/L) is recommended. This course is ideal for anyone looking to enter the fashion industry or enhance their creative skills in garment design and construction.
Entry Requirements
Anybody who is interested in developing skills in pattern making; No education qualifications are mandatory prerequisites but preferably the participant should have followed at least GCE (O/L) and should be able to understand basic English.
